Who we serve

At St. Francis Inn we serve the Kensington community of Philadelphia, providing aid in the form of food, clothing, and so much more to ANYONE in need. We welcome families looking for nutritious meals for their children, young people who may be lost and looking for assistance, and the elderly who may not have anyone to care for them. We refer to the people who we welcome into our doors as “guests” and treat them with respect and dignity as they are our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Why Kensington

The Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia has gone through many changes over the years, but it has always been the host of large numbers of people in need. Not only is Kensington the epicenter of the opioid crisis, but its current gentrification leaves some longtime residents unable to afford both rent and food to put on the table. We serve in Kensington because we see these people who have been counted out by society, and want to work to fulfill their most basic needs. We have set our roots in Kensington and we are here to stay. We welcome those new to our community  to join us in serving our neighbors!
